Statue of Unity, Gujarat

The Statue of Unity is a monument dedicated to Indian independence movement leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel located in the Indian state of Gujarat. 182 metres (597 feet) in height, it is world’s tallest statue. It is located facing the Narmada Dam, 3.2 km away on the river island called Sadhu Bet near Vadodara in Gujarat. This statue is spread over 20,000 square meters of project area and surrounded by an artificial lake spread across 12 km of area.

Requirements

In this project, there are two cores in elliptic shape with a size of 11.0 m x 8.50 m each. The core walls starts from the feet of the statue structure reaching to the shoulder of the structure. Project involves numerous structural beam attaching to core. To start work on both core and attached structural beam, client wanted to take core ahead to achieve the project dead line.

PERI solution

PERI provided RCS for core wall and tower crane area along with ACS for lifting of boom placer hydraulically. We supplied 24 nos. RCS Rail climbing units and 1 no. ACS self-climbing unit for faster and crane independent construction of elliptical core.
